Installed 10 Abus Codeloxx Proximity Euro Cylinders in local hotel. After installing the Abus SKM software and setting up the system the installation of a cylinder took typically 10 minutes. Taking slightly longer than changing a conventional euro cylinder, without the usual expensive electrical installation associated with card based access control.
Performed at the Royal Albert Hall ! Not actually on the stage as such. Just carried out some more specialised installation work on doors near to the stage.
Carried out installation work at the Royal Albert Hall. Very enjoyable experience.

Supplied a replacement of a very unusual key
Contributed to the Master Locksmiths Associations "Interviews with a Locksmith series" to help those interested in the locksmith trade. This will hopefully provide some insight for any prospective locksmith.
Signed new lease for a retail shop in Old Hatfield. Working hard on getting things set up for a September opening. A major advantage is the FREE 2 hour car parking opposite the shop.
Asked to travel from Hertford up to Bolton to fit an Abloy lock and drill door for cableway. 4 hours each way with 4 hours on site. A 12 hour day to fit 1 lock. Someone obviously thinks highly of our Skills.
Supplied a Paxton Net2 plus system with combined digital keypads and card readers to control gated access to local sailing club.
A digital keypad allows visting sailors access to club grounds only during open events and the card reader allows club members free access at all times.
Controlling access for visitors was a major concern. It had to be both easily operated by them, they would be given a new access code for a particular event, and provide for the quick and easy deletion of the code once the event had passed. Then with membership approaching 300 the card reader would give each member access based on their annual paid membership status. Paxton's software gives intuitive PC based control over the system. So changing visitors access codes or blocking members cards can now be done wirelessly whilst lounging around the clubhouse, or remotely, using a laptop.
Supplied and fitted 2 replacement Chubb BS deadlocks keyed alike complete with 120 keys. It is rather unusual to provide that number of keys. So worth a mention here.
Finished the installation of a Videx combined 2 way colour video and digital access control system. We used one of the new Videx 4000 series door panels to provide control for 2 companies within the same building. A new Adams Rite latch and release replaced the existing mechanical keypad on the pair of aluminium main entrance doors. The doors required some remedial attention to provide for the all important locking/unlocking cycle. A little 'TLC' cured the problem.
Completed large job, 32 doors, in West Sussex. We were asked to install locks and electric releases on all the external doors of new building block at Brighton University. The aluminium doors had standard locks that we replaced with multi-point locks and/or electric releases. A challenging and rewarding job.
